Description

Scraper conveyor is used for metallurgy, machinery, light industry, food, transportation. It has different types, such as normal type, hot material type, special type of soda ash (ordinary type, high efficiency), special type of grain, special type of cement, special type of power plant. The slot width is between 120mm to 1000mm. Scraper conveyor is a device to continuously convey bulk materials, like:powder, small particles and bulk. It can convey tilt. For the internal friction and lateral pressure of loose materials,  when it is in horizontal transportation, the movement of the material in the tank is in the same direction as the movement of the conveyor chain, which increases internal friction and internal pressure between materials. As the internal friction is greater than the friction between the material and the wall, material will move forward by the conveyor chain. However ,when in vertical transportation, it mainly rely on the arch characteristics of materials.

Scraper conveyor is mainly composed of closed section of the shell (machine slot), scraper chain, drive device and tension device. It has such advantages as: simple structure, small occupation, well sealing performance and easy to install and maintenance. The process selection and layout of conveyor is more flexible. The great advantage of this conveyor is that can improve working condition and reduce environment pollution inthe transportation of flying, toxic, high temperature, flammable and explosive materials.

Materials

i. Material density:ρ=0.2～1.8 t/m³

ii. Material temperature:T≤120℃(Hot type exceed this temperature )

iii. Moisture content: based on particle size and viscosity, generally taking the  not easy to loose as a boundary after grouping.

iv. Materials: barley, wheat, soybean, corn and grain powder, grain husk, wood chips, sawdust, and crushed coal, pulverized coal, crushed slag, cement.

v. Difficult to transport material for normal type: high temperature, toxic, flammable, explosive, highly abrasive, viscous, strong suspension, very brittle but do not want to break. If you want to convey these materials, the scraper conveyor must be high temperature resistant, wear resistant, corrosion resistant, explosion-proof.

 

Layout Form

i.MS scraper conveyor can be arranged horizontally or with a small angel. The angle is less than 25°,and conveying distance of each unit is no more than 80m.

ii.MC scraper conveyor can be arranged horizontally or with a small angel. The angle is form30° to 90°,and conveying distance of each unit is no more than 30m.

iii.When the required conveying equipment exceeds the above requirements, it can  connect the the same or different types of conveyor to meet specific needs. 

 

 Working Principle

After the transmission rotate drive sprocket, the conveying chain with scraper is engaged with the drive sprocket and then moves. When the material is added from the feed inlet, the movement of the material in the tank is in the same direction as the movement of the conveyor chain, which increases internal friction and internal pressure between materials. As the internal friction is greater than the friction between the material and the wall, material will move forward by the conveyor chain. And the increasing internal pressure ensure the stability of material layer, forming an integral continuous flow.When the ratio of the height of the material layer and the width of the slot meets a certain condition, the material flow is stable, the material speed is equal to the chain speed, and then the material can be continuous, stable conveyed and finally discharged.

 

Advantages

i. Because it is driven by the internal friction of the material. Compare with screw conveyor ,the buried scraper conveyor has less resistance and lower energy consumption than screw conveyor, it can save energy about 50%.

ii. The conveyor chain is made of high strength wearable sleeve roller chain. After a special process,it has such characters as: high strength, low friction coefficient and long service life.

iii. Wide range of conveying. It can convey various powder, granular, bulk material in large capacity and long distance.

iv. The whole conveying process is carried out in a closed space,therefore,it is particularly for conveying volatile, toxic, corrosive and other special materials.

v. The process layout is flexible. The conveyor can be arranged horizontally or inclined, and can be fed more or discharged, which is convenient for connecting with other equipment;

vi. Compact structure, small space occupation, less wearing parts, easy to operate and maintenance.

 

Maintenance

The buried scraper conveyor should be cleaned and checked after each use. And inspection should contain:first, if there are any remaining material crush in the tank, it should be cleaned; second, any parts having local, small hidden danger should be promptly ruled out,and the chain should be adjusted for it too loose; third, scraper chain cracks or has severe wear and tear, it should be replaced; forth, lubricating point should be timely refueling. In addition to repair or replace the damaged parts in time, one should also inspect  the key parts and any parts easy to wear regularly based on safety regulation. All the above practice can ensure the machine in a good performance.
